The result is specific information you can use to help build your aromatherapy expertise! This 200-page book contains aromatherapy and herbal medicine formulas for nearly FIFTY infectious illnesses – the illnesses you are most likely to encounter! Specific, drop-by-drop directions for using essential oils and herbal medicines are listed – information no herbal company will list on a label!

Common Cold

The common cold is an acute catarrhal inflammation of the mucous membranes in the upper respiratory tract. Many viruses can cause a cold. They are highly contagious. Symptoms include congestion of the nasal mucosa, watery discharge, nose sniffing and blowing, headaches, dull pains in the face and head, fever, body aches, tiredness, and chills. Symptoms usually resolve on 5-10 days.

Colds are more likely to occur when people stay in overheated or dry rooms for long periods of time in winter. This affects the immune response, making developing a cold more likely. Cold, overheated, or moist feet, a damaged bronchial system, excessive use of antibiotics, unwanted physical or emotional stress, and aging are other conditions that increase susceptibility to colds.
