To make your own cough syrup put the bark of a white pine in clean jar partially filled with hot water. Steep for a few hours before adding 3/4 cup vodka or brandy for every cup of water in the jar. Let this mixture stand at least for one day before straining the pine bark. If you'd like, add up to 1 cup honey. Use in place of commercial cough syrup after checking with your practitioner.
